Hydraulic Plumbing Kits

Hydraulic plumbing kits and hydraulic hammers can be a big headache to their owners. They may not perform correctly and they may have costly breakdowns. Often these problems can be traced back to incorrect installation, incorrect flows and pressures. Hydraulic hammers are a precision tool that must be carefully matched to both the job in hand and the carrier machine. The carrier then needs to be plumbed correctly so as to ensure correct hammer operations. Not all hammers work the same internally. Hammers have their likes and dislikes. Different brands and models of hammers have their own likes, dislikes and sensitivities. Keep your hammer happy and it will make you happier by saving you money and it will be more reliable. If your carrier requires plumbing then we suggest you plumb it correctly with a good hydraulic kit and minimize headaches before they start. Not all hydraulic kits are the same. Some are better than others. We may also suggest minor upgrades. They may cost you a little more at the outset but they could well save you lots of money in the longer term and make your plumbing more versatile and able to operate different brands of hammers and other attachments in the future. Call us, give us as much detail as possible and we will advise you the best way to go about your installation.

When calling us please give us the brand, model, year and serial number of your excavator and also the brand, model, year and serial numbers of your hydraulic hammer. Please also supply us with any other numbers that may be stamped into you hammer as often the same model hammer may have more than one flow version internally. We also supply hose burst protection valves and safety systems to meet Iso 8643 European legislation. Similar legislation will no doubt be adopted in North America at some stage.

Hydraulic Kits vary according to the types and number of pumps your excavator has and the oil output required on the hammer you chose to install. Some hammer designs require external accumulators installed in line in the hammer circuit to prevent damage to your excavators hydraulic system as well as reduce high pressure oil cavitation errosion within the hammer itself. Under very high pressure cavitation can cut away the internal metal parts of the hammer requiring replacement of expensive internal parts we will advise you the best options to protect against such damage and avoid costly repairs.

Some models of Tramac Hammers, Rockram Hammers, Kobex Hammers and Dynatec Hammers can be turned through 180 degrees in their casings so as to match your plumbing orientation if your excavator is already plumbed. Older (pre-1996) E series Rockram breakers are of fixed orientation.

All kits come with instructions and are packed so that they can be sent to you by Road or by Air Express.
